Understanding cyberbullying is crucial for creating a safe and supportive online environment. Throughout this unit, we will explore the different types of cyberbullying, its impact on individuals and communities, and effective strategies for prevention and intervention.
One poignant example of the devastating effects of cyberbullying is the story of Dolly Everett, a young Australian girl whose tragic experience highlights the urgent need for awareness and action in combating this issue. Dolly was a vibrant and talented teen who faced relentless online harassment, which ultimately contributed to her untimely death in 2018. Her story is a heartbreaking reminder of the severe consequences that cyberbullying can have on individuals and communities.

Another example is the story of Charlotte Dawson, which proves that cyberbullying can affect everyone regardless of age, gender, social status, religion or ethnicity.
